On December 13, 2022, at 1:30 am the milking parlor, milkhouse, cheese make room, and creamery office burned in a quick-moving electrical fire. While the walls of the milking parlor could be saved the rest of the building and all the equipment were a complete loss. Fortunately, the aging rooms were detached from the creamery and they were able to be saved, along with all the cheese that was in them. With no way to milk the cows and nowhere to store or process the milk we needed to find a temporary farm for our milking cows. During the seven months it took us to rebuild our milking cows were cared for at www.nicefarmsmd.com, Nice Farms Creamery in Federalsburg, MD. This amazing family added our cows to their herd and took amazing care of them while we were rebuilding. We will be forever grateful for their kindness and the love and care they gave our cows.
On December 26, 2022, we started cleaning up from the fire and on December 28, 2022, we started rebuilding.
The rebuilding is almost finished. Our cows came home on June 30, 2023. We are so happy to have our cows back home!
We received our pastuerized cheese permit back on July 7, 2023 and our raw milk cheese permit back on August 22, 2023. We are back to processing all of our milk. Look for us at Farmer's Markets and small stores!
We are so thankful for all the support we have recieved from our friends, family, neighbors
